This water tower belonged to the Coöperatieve Stoomzuivelfabriek Sint Isidorus (Co-operative Steam Dairy Factory Saint Isidore), which was built in 1916. The water tower originally had three floors (ground floor, first floor and second floor) and a hipped roof. This roof was removed around 1930, after which a fourth floor with a concrete reservoir was added. The water tower was then fitted with a flat roof. In 1977, the factory buildings were bought by the owners of a local do-it-yourself company. They restored the old buildings in the following years. In 2001, they fitted the water tower with a new hipped roof, which is a replica of the original roof. /Wilco Krul |

This water tower/reservoir building was designed by Dutch railway architect G.W. van Heukelom. It was built circa 1914 and had three rectangular iron reservoirs, each with a capacity of approximately 70.000 liters. The building was blown up by German soldiers on 17 September 1944. (An almost identical water tower/reservoir building, also designed by G.W. van Heukelom, was built in Maastricht.) /Wilco Krul |
